Pets: Are they really good for your health?

About 60 percent of American Households have one or more pets. Pets can be lovable, amusing, or maddening – but can they also have an impact on health?

A variety of medical studies hint that pet ownership may promote good health.

Scientist who have pawed over the relationships between pet and allergies have also produced a split verdict. Animal dander can clearly trigger allergic rhinitis and asthma attacks. Some results suggest that childhood exposure to pets reduces the risk of allergic reactions later in life, but other studies disagree. Similarly, research that has linked pet ownership to a reduced need for medical services and to improved psychosocial well-being has been countered by studies that found no benefit.

Findingyourpet.com is taking a survey from normal pet owners to see how they feel about pets and their health. Please leave a comment with your suggestion.

We will continue the rest of this article after the survey has been completed.
